Belarusian Hut

The exposition of the Belarusian Hut branch is a kind of continuation of the exposition of the Maxim Bogdanovich Literary Museum. It is dedicated to the Minsk period of the classic's life, as well as to the literary and social movement of the early twentieth century in Minsk.

The branch is located in a house built in 1904 on Chelyuskintsev Street. This is the only surviving building in Minsk that is truly connected with M. Bogdanovich. In the 80s of the XX century. the house saved from demolition was removed from its historical foundation and moved to Rabkorovskaya Street. At the same time, work began on the creation of the branch's exposition. After the restoration, the house returned to its original appearance and on June 25, 1991, its grand opening took place.

The house-wing once belonged to Sava Radka, a teacher of the school of the Libavo-Romensk railway, who rented it out for apartments. At the beginning of the First World War, the Belarusian theater and public figure Vsevolod Falsky hired the building as a free canteen for refugees. Later, when the wave of refugees slept on the right side of the house quartered Zmitrok Biadula sisters Renae and Geney. Maxim Bogdanovich had to live in one of the rooms of this apartment (from October 1916 to February 1917). Therefore, when creating the exhibition, the museum staff had the task not only to tell about the Minsk period of the life and work of M. Bogdanovich, about the Belarusian national literary and social movement in Minsk at the beginning of the twentieth century, but also to completely restore the poet's room, to show the life of citizens during the First World War on the example of the rooms of Z. Byaduli and his sisters.

The memorial room of the poet was restored according to the memoirs of Zoska Veras, Lyavon Zayts, Zmitrok Byaduli. To create the atmosphere of a temporary shelter for a sick Bogdanovich helped things-analogues and furniture of the early twentieth century. The poet's creative laboratory is represented by documents and books, including a single lifetime collection of Bogdanovich's "Wreath" and relics – Bogdanovich's personal belongings – a mortar and a pusher for grinding medicines. Such masterpieces of Belarusian poetry as the famous poem "The Chase" and the poem "Stratim-Swan" belong to the Minsk period of creativity. The undoubted advantage of the artistic design of the room is the effect of the presence of the poet himself, which is achieved with the help of objects laid out on the table and an artificially created night – the time when Bogdanovich worked on his works.

In addition to traditional excursions and battle performances, museum classes for children are held on the basis of the branch.
